Young Hearts Project x MATES Day
Young people face countless challenges every day. Our charity, Young Hearts Project, champions supporting Kiwi youth through the obstacles of life. One of our community partners, Great Potentials Foundation, hold a programme called MATES which helps unleash the potential of children and young New Zealanders through education support. They do this through a Mentor to Mentee scheme, where Mentors help young students understand their unique talents and skills to enhance their sense of identity and belonging.
Some of our Deuce team members were fortunate enough to attend an event with the MATES Mentors and Mentees at Auckland University. Two of our team members, Tania (Manufacturing Manager) and Georgia (People & Culture Advisor), spoke to the MATES mentees about some of the challenges they faced growing up, their career path and offered some inspiration to dream big! The MATES mentees then crafted their own dream board and we captured a few of the moments below
