How to Care: Canvas/Fabric
Ah, the excitement of opening those fresh new sneakers out of the box for this first time. But how do you care for canvas/fabric materials on your new kicks? We’ve perfected our specialised range of care products to help combat the wear and tear of daily life and to protect your new shoes! GENERAL TIPS Wear your shoes on alternate days to allow them to air out and have a longer life. Always leave wet shoes to dry naturally - never by artificial heat. Driving in heels may cause damage to the backs of the shoes and heels. Wear with care for some finishes such as glitter and embellishment due to their delicate nature. Take care with delicate materials such as fabric/canvas and use only specialised cleaning products, testing on a small area of the shoe first. WATER/STAIN PROTECTOR SPRAY This is the most essential care product for canvas/fabric footwear. Premium and alcohol free, this spray protects leather from the effects of water, marks, stains and prevents discolouration. Ideal for any fabric and can be used on any colour! We recommend spraying multiple layers of this before your first wear for that extra protection. You can then continue spraying an extra coat on your shoes regularly, based on how often you wear them. Available in a small pump spray size to purchase online, or a large ozone-friendly aerosol in stores. SUEDE/NUBUCK FABRIC SHAMPOO This gentle cleaner removes grime and soil from most fabrics and is suitable for all colours! We recommend cleaning the whole shoe rather than spot cleaning. WATERLESS FOAM CLEANER This foam pump cleaner is specially formulated to remove stains and scuffs from canvas sneakers. Simply pump the foam directly onto the shoe and gently work the stains out with our Shoe Brush. Spot cleaning made easy! INSTANT CLEANER The white rubber sole cleaner you’ve always wanted – the Instant Clean works wonders at removing unwanted marks off the soles of your shoes. It’s also very effective at cleaning white and other light coloured leathers. SUPER WHITE REVIVER Make your white shoes look like new again! Use our Super White Reviver to restore a crisp white colour to scuffed leather, vinyl and white sports footwear. Plus the sponge applicator is super easy for application. As we value quality first and foremost, our full grain leather is of the highest calibre and all of our hides are hand selected for the perfect finish. Because we’re passionate about beautiful shoes, we’re also passionate about caring for them. We’ve perfected our specialised range of care products to help combat the wear and tear of daily life and to protect your leather footwear. Suede and nubuck leather requires specialist care to ensure they stay looking their best. GENERAL TIPS Wear your shoes on alternate days to allow them to air out and have a longer life. Always leave wet shoes to dry naturally - never by artificial heat. Driving in heels may cause damage to the backs of the shoes and heels. Wear with care for some finishes such as glitter and embellishment due to their delicate nature. WATER/STAIN PROTECTOR SPRAY Premium and alcohol-free, this spray protects the leather from the effects of water, marks, stains and prevents discolouration. Ideal for the delicate nature of suede and can be used on any colour! We highly recommend spraying 3-4 layers of this before your first wear for that extra protection. This sponge applicator refreshes the colour of your suede to retain the rich, soft character of black suede and nubuck. Available only in black. Use it alongside our Suede/Nubuck Brush. SUEDE/NUBUCK FABRIC SHAMPOO This gentle cleaner removes grime and soil from suede and nubuck and is suitable for all colours! Use with our Suede/Nubuck Brush. We recommend cleaning the whole shoe, rather than spot cleaning. SUEDE/NUBUCK BRUSH Two-sided, designed to clean and restore suede and nubuck. The rubber side helps remove dirt and scuff marks. The bristled side brushes and raises the nap to restore the lush finish of the pile. Rubber edging helps ‘erase’ marks and clean cracks. Use alongside the Suede/Nubuck Shampoo and the Suede/Nubuck Reviver.

LEATHER CONDITIONER Just like your own skin, the leather on your shoes needs to be regularly moisturised and hydrated. Our Leather Conditioner cleans, conditions and moisturises whilst assisting waterproofing. Both Lanolin and wax based, this is ideal for all types of leather: smooth, patent or even leather-look material. Plus it removes surface residue for a glossy finish. We recommend applying this with our Polishing Cloth. BEESWAX Softens, preserves and protects all smooth leathers whilst restoring natural oils and enhancing the finish. This is suitable only for medium to dark leathers. Fun tip: rub beeswax in the lining of your leather shoes to soften any firm areas that are causing discomfort - this will save you from future blisters! Our Beeswax also helps with waterproofing the leather! RENOVATING POLISH If your shoes need a colour refresh for some extra pigment, Renovating Polish is your go-to. This nourishes and conditions the leather, whilst refreshing colour to help cover scuffs and scratches. The polish is a water-based wax formula which gives a superb high-gloss finish. We recommend using this on smooth or grained leather. We have a range of colours available in this to suit your shoe collection. Apply with our Shoe Brush or Polishing Cloth. Use our Instant Shine to enhance the colour. SHOE GEL This clear gel cleans, moisturises, preserves and nurtures the leather on your footwear. You can use for smooth, delicate leathers such as calf, kid, snake-effect/croc-effect and ESPECIALLY metallics. Plus you can use this on all colours! Apply with our Polishing Cloth. It also smells great (like really good!) and can be used on sandals to soften straps that cut in. PATENT LEATHER DRESSING Available in black or neutral, our Patent Leather Dressing cleans, conditions and shines patent leather, but is also suitable for high gloss, synthetic plastics and vinyl. We highly recommend applying before your first wear using our Polishing Cloth. SHOE BRUSH The natural bristles on our Shoe Brush are gentle on leather, allowing for even distribution of products and buffing to a high shine. Use the Shoe Brush to get rid of any excess dirt or dust on your shoes. You can also use the brush to apply shoe polish and wax and gently buff your shoes. Use this to apply Renovating Polish and Beeswax. POLISHING CLOTH Premium, lint-free cotton for a superior shine, our Polishing Cloth is long wearing and has overlocked edges. Use this to apply Leather Conditioner, Shoe Gel, Patent Leather Dressing, Renovating Polish and Shoe Gel. Apply a tiny amount of product to the cloth and gently rub the shoes in small circles. Buff the shoe until it shines. INSTANT SHINE This wonder-sponge contains silicon oil and impregnating waxes, cleaning and polishing for a superior, high-gloss finish. Appropriate for all colours of smooth and grained leather. Apply all over your shoes using the applicator sponge on first use, or after applying your Renovating Polish or Leather Conditioner. In celebration of International Women's Day, we’re shining a spotlight on five inspiring soles behind Merchant 1948 to launch our new diverse fit boot range, Fit For Me. YOU ASKED, WE LISTENED. A foreword from our Director, Louise Anselmi on ournew journey in inclusive sizing and launch of Fit For Me. 'As we begin to plan each new season, our Designers decide on some key focuses forthe season based on feedback we receive from both our customers and our teams.Many customers have given the feedback that they would love to invest in a long bootfor the winter, however we just didn’t have the variety needed to cater to their calf sizing.So, six months ago we embarked on a project to increase our offering of long bootswith a greater diversity of fits. Our first step in the process was to hold an office-wide calf measuring session andwe owe a huge thanks to the team for being so willing, vulnerable and involved in this process.' MEET THE TEAM Munawwar Abrahams - Logistics & Buying Assistant Sorel Drever - Customer Insights Manager Ellie Mills - Lead Designer Sophie Tyrell - Operations Manager Kellee Peita-Read - Store Manager 'Our Designers measured all participants (many of whom had never previously fitted a long boot), at the widest point in their calves and ankles.This highlighted the vast variety of calf shapes and dimensions, to help us understand the scope we needed to design to.We created a database from narrow to XX wide measurements and designed boots to fit in these bands that were both classic and modern,hopefully providing options to customers that we haven’t before.' Where previously we have offered regular fit, stretch fit and some wide fit, we are now able to offer: 'We are excited to be starting this journey, offering a greater diversity of fits in long boots.We will take the learnings and feedback from customers this winter, to improve the inclusivity of our collections.This is the beginning, not the end of our inclusive fit journey.' Deuce Sneakers | The New Movement
Join us in the new movement as we refresh and refine our most loved styles,deeply grounded in our community and commitment to The Young Hearts Project. At our heart lies a strong focus on supporting our own charity Young Hearts Project. We continue to help change the lives of young people in New Zealand by donating $2 for every pair of full-priced Deuce sneakers purchased to our charity. So far with the help of our Deuce customers, we have raised $1.9 million, growing each day. The Young Hearts Project was founded in 2014 by our Director Shane Anselmi, recognising the need to provide opportunities for young people to develop skills and resilience. The Young Hearts Project helps them feel empowered to deal with life’s challenges. The funds raised enable our three partners, Youthline, the Graeme Dingle Foundation, and Great Potentials, to deliver programmes focused on mentoring, emotional support, and value-based learning to young people who need it. Deuce supports the Great Potentials Foundation MATES Juniour programme which helps support intermediate students making the transition to secondary school by providing academic support, teaching life skills, building meaningful relationships and embracing the joy of learning to enable fundamental change. Youthline has been in operation for 53 years and is a 'with youth, for youth' organization that supports young people throughout Aotearoa, aged between 12-42 years of age. Deuce has been proudly supporting Youthline since 2014. Our funds go towards supporting Youthline's 24/7 Helpline service. The Graeme Dingle Foundation is a Foundation all about empowering young people to reach their best potential.Deuce supports one of their programmes, Kiwi Can, which is an energy-packed primary school programme, teaching children values such as inegrity and respect.
